The Preservation Society of Charleston will hold its Annual Membership Meeting and Carolopolis Awards Program on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. The event will take place at The Riviera Theatre and Conference Center at Charleston Place, 227 King Street, Charleston, SC. The Carolopolis Awards program was created by the Preservation Society in 1953 to recognize outstanding achievement in exterior preservation, restoration, rehabilitation, and new construction in Charleston. The City of Charleston’s Design, Development and Preservation Department is now posting Board Architectural Review submittal materials on their website. Now you can review materials for upcoming agenda items from the comfort of your home or office well in advance of B.A.R. meetings and be better prepared to speak at these pivotal public meetings.

The 61st Annual Festival of Houses and Gardens will start on March 13th through April 12th 2008. Proceeds from the Festival of Houses and Gardens support the preservation mission of Historic Charleston Foundation as a preserves and protects the architectural, historical and cultural integrity of Charleston.
